Urban Dance (Winter–Spring)

Fun sessions of creative moves and cool beats await.


What will the students learn in this class?
Students learn how to move to popular songs, including jazz funk, urban jazz and R&B. After mastering progressively more technical moves, they practice dancing in sync as part of a group. As students progress, they are encouraged to express themselves through improvisation and freestyle dance.

What are the benefits of this class?
Dance can help improve coordination, flexibility, confidence and overall fitness. Students also learn how to work as a team when following a choreographed routine.

Who will teach this class?
Professional dance instructor and choreographer Kana Ando started learning dance at 3 years old, when she attended ballet and jazz dance classes. She later studied in New York and has been teaching for eight years. She has entered numerous dance competitions and performs in TV commercials and as a backup dancer for Japanese artists. She teaches all ages and dance levels.
