Club to Honor Olympic Wrestler
The Club will recognize the sporting success of Japanese wrestler Saori Yoshida at an evening presentation ceremony in the Winter Garden on October 26.
The 35-year-old will receive the Club’s Sports Lifetime Achievement Award for her remarkable accomplishments in the world of freestyle wrestling, including three Olympic gold medals, one Olympic silver and 13 world championship titles.
The most recent recipients of the Sports Lifetime Achievement Award, which was established in 1995, were Masato Mizuno and Tsunekazu Takeda, who led Tokyo’s 2020 Olympic bid.
Café Med Set for All-Day Dining
From November 6, Café Med will remain open throughout the day on weekdays.
Members will be able to enjoy the restaurant’s offerings from 6:30am to 8:30pm. Its hours on weekends and national holidays are 11am to 8:30pm.
The move follows a similar change to the hours of American Bar & Grill, which is open from 11:30am to 10pm each weekday.
Restaurants to Extend Hours
From October 2, the Club dining spots of Café Med and American Bar & Grill will extend their opening hours on weekdays.
Early risers and morning fitness fanatics will be able to eat breakfast at Café Med from 6:30am.
Meanwhile, American Bar & Grill will no longer close during weekday afternoons, staying open from the late morning until 10pm.
"The extended restaurant hours will mean Members will be able to refuel after their morning workout earlier, while those looking for an afternoon drink or something to eat will have another dining option," says Noriaki Yamazaki, the Club's Food & Beverage director.
